Partners
The market infrastructure, regulatory framework, and commercial relationships that surround the SANIA Group.
A wholesale energy trading house does not operate in isolation. Every commercial activity it conducts — every megawatt-hour purchased and sold, every cross-border schedule nominated, every contract reported to the regulator — is supported by an extensive ecosystem of trading venues, market infrastructure operators, transmission system operators, financial counterparties, and the broader community of market participants. This page describes the principal categories of that ecosystem as they relate to SANIA Power AG and its subsidiaries.
We do not, on this site, publish the names of individual commercial counterparties. The bilateral nature of wholesale energy trading, and the contractual confidentiality that accompanies most commercial relationships, makes such disclosure both inappropriate and unhelpful. Where memberships, registrations, or institutional relationships are matters of public record, however, we identify them by name.
Market infrastructure: exchanges, clearing, and reporting
Power and gas exchanges
Our trading activity covers the principal electricity trading venues of Central Europe: the platforms operated by EPEX SPOT in the day-ahead and intraday markets, the platforms operated by the European Energy Exchange (EEX) in derivatives, and the national exchanges to which we have access — among them OTE in the Czech Republic, OKTE in Slovakia, and HUPX in Hungary. Access to these platforms is arranged through established intermediary arrangements with member firms; the Group’s direct market-participant memberships are the CEGH memberships of SANIA Power AG and SANIA Power s.r.o.
Natural gas trading venues
For natural gas, the group’s principal trading venue is the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) in Vienna — one of Europe’s leading natural gas trading platforms and a strategically important hub for Central and South-Eastern European gas flows. SANIA Power AG (Switzerland) and SANIA Power s.r.o. (Slovakia) are registered members of CEGH, providing direct access to the CEGH virtual trading point in Austria. Access to other regional gas markets depends on the applicable licence, registration, and market arrangement.
Central counterparty clearing
For trades executed on or cleared through European derivatives exchanges, central counterparty clearing is provided through the established clearing infrastructure serving those exchanges — including, where relevant, European Commodity Clearing (ECC), the central counterparty serving EEX and a number of other European energy markets. Clearing is effected through a partner holding a direct ECC connection; that relationship is supported by the collateral and margin management procedures described on our Compliance & Risk page.
Regulatory reporting
Wholesale energy transactions are reported to the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) — and, where applicable, to the Swiss Federal Electricity Commission (ElCom) — through Webware Internet Solutions GmbH. Webware acts as the Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) for the relevant SANIA entities.
Transmission system operators and balancing arrangements
SANIA Group companies do not act as Balance Responsible Parties (BRPs). Where balancing coverage is required, formal balance responsibility remains with a contracted, appropriately authorised BRP or other market-service partner. Scheduling, nomination, and operational coordination with the relevant transmission system operator (TSO) follow the applicable market and contractual structure and, where required, are carried out through that partner. The table below identifies the electricity TSOs serving the markets in which the Group is active; it does not imply that a SANIA entity has a direct contractual relationship or BRP status with every operator listed:
| Country | Transmission System Operator |
|---|---|
| Switzerland | Swissgrid |
| Germany | Amprion, TenneT, 50Hertz, TransnetBW — according to the control area of the BRP partner |
| Austria | Austrian Power Grid (APG) |
| Czech Republic | ČEPS |
| Slovakia | Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava (SEPS) |
| Hungary | MAVIR |
For natural gas, balancing and nomination arrangements likewise depend on the relevant market and contractual structure. In Slovakia, SANIA Power s.r.o. is a direct network contracting party with eustream, a.s. and submits nominations directly; capacity management, and part or all of the balancing and settlement functions, are performed by another market-service provider. In other gas markets, market access and operational coordination may be provided through licensed or otherwise appropriately authorised partners.
Industry memberships
Where the group’s participation in an industry organisation is a matter of public record and reflects a substantive operational relationship, we identify it by name. The group’s principal published industry affiliation is the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) in Vienna, in which SANIA Power AG and SANIA Power s.r.o. hold registered membership. The group does not currently hold further publicly recorded industry memberships, although senior commercial and risk staff engage regularly with their professional counterparts at industry events, regulatory consultations, and technical working groups across the region.
Financial and legal partners
The operational infrastructure of a Swiss-incorporated trading house active across multiple European jurisdictions depends on a stable network of financial and legal partners. The group maintains banking relationships with established Swiss and Central European financial institutions providing transaction settlement, treasury management, and foreign-exchange services. Legal counsel is provided by professional firms with substantive experience in Swiss corporate and commercial law, European energy regulation, and the national legal frameworks of the markets in which the group operates. In line with the group’s institutional development, an external audit of the annual financial statements will be introduced from the 2027 financial year, as described on our Compliance & Risk page.
We do not publish the names of individual financial or legal service providers on this site. These relationships are matters of commercial confidence, and are disclosed where appropriate in the course of counterparty due diligence on a bilateral basis.
Commercial counterparties: who we trade with and who we serve
While we do not identify individual counterparties on this site, the principal categories of relationship include the following.
Industrial offtakers. Energy-intensive industrial consumers in Central and Central-Eastern Europe, for whom we provide structured electricity and natural gas supply solutions, profile-shaped contracts, and the integration of environmental attributes such as Guarantees of Origin where required.
Generators. Operators of conventional and renewable generation assets, for whom we provide route-to-market services, structured offtake arrangements, and balancing support tailored to the technical and commercial profile of the underlying generation.
Aggregators and smaller market participants. Smaller renewable generators and aggregators that benefit from the balancing services and market access we provide on the strength of our trading infrastructure and our relationships with BRP partners across our markets.
Other wholesale trading houses. Bilateral commercial relationships supporting cross-market flow, liquidity provision, and the structured commercial activity that characterises the European wholesale energy markets.
Utilities and public-sector counterparties. Where appropriate, commercial relationships with utilities, municipal undertakings, and public-sector energy procurement entities, conducted under the procurement frameworks applicable in each jurisdiction.
How we start working together
The route from a first enquiry to a first trade is structured and predictable. The sequence is the same for every counterparty; the time it takes depends on the size of the counterparty and on how readily the required documentation is available.
1. First enquiry. Write to us at office@sania-power.com, using the subject prefix “Commercial” or “Counterparty”. We acknowledge enquiries within two working days.
2. Mutual introduction. A short discussion of the products, markets, volumes, and time horizons under consideration, and of which group entity is the appropriate contracting party.
3. Onboarding and due diligence. We request corporate documentation, ultimate beneficial ownership details, and evidence of signing authority, and we carry out sanctions screening. We provide the same information for your own due diligence — please direct such requests using the subject prefix “Compliance”.
4. Master agreement and credit line. We typically contract under an EFET Master Agreement and set a credit line on the basis of an internal credit assessment. Where appropriate, we also agree collateral or payment terms.
5. First trade and ongoing operation. Once the first transaction is concluded, contact becomes routine; we monitor exposure and counterparty standing continuously, in accordance with the terms of the master agreement.
For detail on our risk management and compliance approach, please see our Compliance & Risk page. For a specific enquiry, please email office@sania-power.com, using the appropriate subject prefix listed on our Contact page.
